Years ago you could legally drink and drive in Montucky. As a child my job was to hand beers forward from the cooler to the driver.

how fast can you get away with driving? all I can say about speeding is that it occured in the United States. And it was awesome.

I missed out on driving highway 59 in the daylight. And I couldn’t remember which oppo was our sasquatch-wresslin-Montanan.

I live on HWY 93, 60 miles from the border. Instate plates on open roads you can do 10 over on highways, never ever speed in town.

10 over and they won’t look at you. I have not been pulled over since ‘99 in MT.

There is no road that is flat and straight as a ruler anywhere in a 100 mile radius of Missoula. The closest I’ve got are a few short stretches of 93.

I got no where near Missoula, It was the wee hours of the morning, and I don’t drink but it rhymes, and is a damn jaunty tune to listen to.

I’ve passed through a number of times., only ever saw one person pulled over. On a Corvette yellow sportbike, wearing Corvette yellow leathers. I assume for egregious speeding, and also asking for it.

My office is the small towns on the road, there are places you can speed but through town is not one of them.

David Letterman got a ticket in Darby MT, when he mentioned it on TV every Montanan ever sighed and said to themselves, “everyone knows you don’t speed in Darby”

Being unsubtle. You can beat the cops and you can beat the clock. but next gas 75 miles is a bitch.

I live in Sask, there are regional Differences in suggested speed. limit’s the same everywhere. Got my first ticket in many, many years a couple weeks ago. I had a very polite and friendly dealing with the RCMP.
“do you know why I pulled you over”
“yes I was driving way too fast there”
“were you aware you were speeding?”
‘After I saw your cop car I was, It’s a stickshift, and apparently stick and cruise is a rare combo on these , so no cuise it some times creeps up on ya”
“no kidding, a stick in a dodge nitro? never seen that, neat”
“yeah its a six speed, it pretty awsome”
“SIX? right on. Gimme your licence and I’ll be right back.”
Still got the ticket, but the minimum actual ticket you can get. I know the road you can boogie down on and that wasn’t one of them. My bad.

As a saskweejan, I find Montana’s lonely highways scenic and relaxing.

Driving to Missoula was the first mistake. Just drive to Portland.
